blue1. Li-Bu-Wei Buddha

(image with blue jacket): This Buddha's symbolic direction is East. He stands for security and fearlessness. The hands are in a mudra (position) for appeasement and comforting. We hear daily of violence and disasters around the world so many have trouble seeing a future. The quiet one wins by following Buddha's path allows one to maintain a calm in the same way as a rock exposed to the forces of nature and can face the day without fear.

 

 


pink2. Tuo-Pao Buddha

(image with the pink jacket): This Buddha symbolizes the direction of the center and represents wealth. The hands are in a mudra of ceremonial unity. Humans often require material wealth is often rooted in vanity. Happiness that comes out of materialism is often short-lived. By developing wisdom by following the Buddha's teachings can achieve true wealth and prosperity.

 

 


brown3. Amitabha Buddha

(image with brown jacket): The Buddha's symbolic direction is West, and he keeps his hands in a mudra of concentration. He represents the infinite light and boundless life. Amitabha Buddha is the "The Western Paradise". By worshiping Buddha Amitabha you improve their health and longevity. Through sincere and serious practice of Buddhist principles can after death be reborn in the Western Paradise and there to live and teach the Dharma.

 

 


white4. Miao-Se-Shen Buddha

(image with a white robe): The Buddha's symbolic direction is South. His hands are in a mudra of touching the ground, which symbolizes Sakyamuni Buddha's overcoming of temptations from Mara and thereby reached total enlightenment. He represents the beauty and dignity. Most people want to see and touch beautiful things and also itself be physically beautiful. The Buddhist practice cultivates the inner beauty and seriousness, which in turn gives a more relaxed and pleasant appearance.

 

 


green5. Gan-Lu-Wang Buddha

(Image in green jacket): This Buddha's symbolic direction is north. He symbolizes peace and purity. His hands are in a mudra to reject fear. This gesture stemming from an incident with Devadatta, Sakyamuni Buddha's jealous and evil cousin, who unleashed a mad elephant against him. Without fear Buddha sat down and got the wild beast to stop and kneel before him. Just as with the wild elephant, the problems of life to prevail over us and our minds. To survive we must find a refuge. Bad enough as it is an escape only a temporary solution and not a true solution for life. Buddha's teachings can be clean and quiet our minds so that old problems no longer seem so wildly out of control.
